Simple syrup in the microwave!

  • 1 cup water.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar.

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl or measuring cup, combine the water and granulated sugar.
  2. Stir the mixture until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Place the bowl or cup in the microwave and heat it on high for 1 minute.
  4. Remove the bowl or cup from the microwave and give it a stir.
  5. Return it to the microwave and heat it on high for another 30 seconds.
  6. Stir again to ensure the sugar is fully dissolved.
  7. Let the syrup cool before transferring it to a clean, airtight container or bottle.
  8. Store the simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to one month.

It’s important to keep an eye on the mixture while heating it in the microwave to prevent any boiling or spillovers. Microwaves may vary in power, so adjust the heating times accordingly if needed. Once cooled, your homemade simple syrup is ready to use in your favorite cocktails or recipes. Enjoy!
